Fellow Conservative,
Happy Memorial Day weekend! During this long weekend, take the time to honor the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for our freedom. Because of these brave servicemembers, we are able to live in a country where we are safe and free.

If you have the opportunity, thank a current or former member of our armed services to show them how much they are appreciated. We live in a world where people are turning their backs on those who serve to protect us, including our military and police, and taking our freedoms for granted – let’s not let them forget how much their service means to us.

Sadly, the Left is currently trying to politicize the military and push a divisive Critical Race Theory curriculum onto the military. One thing you can do to support the military this weekend is to familiarize yourself with Rep. Dan Bishop’s (R-N.C.) bill to keep CRT out of the military, and then ask your lawmakers to support it.

Pelosi’s Partisan Power Grab
On Thursday, the House held a hearing on the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (it was introduced as H.R. 4 in the last session of Congress). This bill is a partisan power grab by Nancy Pelosi to give unelected federal employees veto power over state election laws.
The Left hates voter protections like voter ID, which are wildly popular with voters ( 75% support voter ID). They can’t defeat these policies democratically, so they’re trying to give veto power to Biden’s appointees.

Democrats are selling this power grab as being necessary to stop discriminatory voter laws—this is a ruse. Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act already makes it illegal to deny or abridge the right to vote on account of race or color.

H.R. 4 can be seen as an extension of the #CorruptPoliticiansAct. You can read more about the latest edition of Democrats grasping for power in our blog post.

Nevada

This week, we sent a grassroots letter signed by 1,780 Nevada voters to the Nevada legislature, urging them to vote NO on AB 321. This is a bad bill that would make permanent the lax voting rules of 2020 and would ultimately make it easier to cheat in Nevada’s elections.

Arizona

The Arizona legislature failed to extend Voter ID protections to vote-by-mail this week. In a 29-31 vote, SB 1713 was defeated on the House floor.

Currently, Arizona voters are required to provide voter ID to vote by person, but no such protection is required when voting by mail. Rep. Michelle Udall and Rep. Joel John were the only two Republicans to vote against this bill.

While the failure of SB 1713 was certainly a setback, the Arizona legislature did pass HB 2792, to prohibit government officials from mailing early ballots to voters who never requested them.

This week was evidence that every victory is hard-won and we can never take any vote for granted.

Texas

SB 7 is still in conference committee. This committee consists of 10 members, 7 of which are Republicans and 3 are Democrats. If you are from Texas, contact the members of the conference committee and tell them to keep SB 7 strong by visiting our Texas Action Center.

The Senate voted this week to confirm Kristen Clarke to run the civil rights division at the Department of Justice. Clarke has openly supported radical positions like defunding the police and, given that this position at the DOJ is tasked with investigations concerning accusations of discrimination, she could very well implement her radical anti-police position to unfairly investigate police departments.

Sign our police pledge today to show your support for our members of law enforcement who put their lives on the line daily to keep us safe.

You can also see if your elected officials have signed on. If your officials have not yet signed, contact them and tell them to back the blue by clicking here.
