The insurrection on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021 isn’t something that can be
swept under the rug or forgotten about. I see the scars of that event when I go
to work every day.

Americans are owed the truth about what happened that day. But Mitch McConnell and Republicans just blocked a bipartisan commission to
investigate the events of January 6th. 

It’s shameful, but I’m not backing down. Can you chip in $1 or more right now to support the Democratic-led Senate and help us protect our democracy from the GOP? [link removed]

I came to the Senate in 1999, and I’ve seen a lot in the halls of Congress. A
lot of progress, a lot of setbacks. Every type of cell phone you can imagine. 

But I’ve never seen anything like the violent, destabilizing insurrection on
January 6th. 

That memory will stick with me for the rest of my life, and I know a lot of
folks across the country feel the same. That’s why a bipartisan investigation is
so necessary -- and so urgent. 

So although it’s inconvenient for the Republicans seeking re-election in the
coming midterms, I’ll make you this promise: While I’m leading a Democratic
majority, we will get the truth about January 6th.
