[1]Cori Bush

We have good news and bad news,
John.

We’ll start with the good: Recently, Cori Bush was recognized for
receiving the most small-dollar donations of all new Democratic members of
the House. We’re beyond proud to hold this title and of all of the
supporters in our grassroots movement who power Cori’s bold message for
change.

But here’s the bad news we currently face: Our fundraising has fallen this
past week. Because Cori doesn't rely on corporate PACs or wealthy friends
to support her in Congress — it’s a big deal when we fall short on our
small-dollar donations.

That’s why today we’re launching a goal to raise 2,600 grassroots
donations by the end of the month on Monday. [ [link removed] ]Can you chip
in $5 or anything you can to help us meet our goal in time
to make sure Cori has the funds to continue organizing and legislating for
bold, anti-racist, progressive change in Congress?

Here’s why it’s so critical we reach our fundraising goal this
month, John.

* The GOP and right-wing media outlets like Fox News have been ramping
up their attacks on Cori. Republicans have made it clear that even
though Trump is out of office — they are still fighting tooth and nail
to keep his racist, oppressive message and policies alive. These
attacks make it clear that they’re afraid of Cori’s bold leadership —
but we know that it’s critical we have enough fundraising to fight
back and make sure we can continue growing our progressive movement.

* It’s important Cori can focus on legislating and organizing for the
transformative policies our communities need — and not worry about
fundraising. You see — that isn’t the norm in Congress. Most
Representatives dedicate hours and hours of their time attending fancy
steak dinners with corporate donors to ensure they have enough
funding. Instead, Cori is relying on donations from emails like this
one to make sure she can focus on fighting for bold legislation like a
Green New Deal and Medicare for All.

* Right now, potential future 2022 challengers are watching because they
want to see how vulnerable Cori’s seat is. They’re going to be
assessing whether Team Cori supporters are committed to keeping her in
Congress, and a key indicator is our fundraising numbers.

There’s a lot at stake when it comes to reaching our fundraising goal by
Monday — but we trust that our grassroots supporters will pitch in and
help us pull this off in time. [ [link removed] ]Can you be one of the donors we need to
chip in today to catch up on our fundraising (even giving $5 makes a big
difference)?

Together,
Team Cori
