Hello, Friends —
This Monday, May 31, is Memorial Day. On this solemn holiday, we pay tribute to those who gave their lives in service to America, and the values that our nation represents: freedom, justice, and liberty.
Memorial Day is a sharp reminder of the countless who have died to save America and a reminder to the rest of us to stand up and fight for our military when they come under fire by Woketopians at home.

30 REPUBLICANS STAND UP AGAINST WOKENESS IN THE MILITARY
This week, I was one of 30 Congressmen who signed a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. We have had ENOUGH of the left-wing extremism that is politicizing our armed forces. This madness has no place in our country. Political operatives, like Bishop Garrison, have got to go; attacking our troops and honorable men and women in the services for their personal beliefs is a dereliction of duty to America. I will always stand up for the men and women who dedicate their lives through service to this country. I hope that Secretary Austin will hear our concerns and act accordingly so we maintain the strength of our United States Military.

INVESTIGATE THE WUHAN LAB LEAK
Today, I was among the 209 Republicans who sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, demanding that she allow investigations into the Wuhan Lab and how it created and disseminated the spread of Covid-19. The American people deserve to know the truth and we will not take No for an answer!

Last year on Tucker Carlson Tonight, I exposed the $3.7 million grant that the National Institute of Health provided to fund coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The Fake News media, CCP-linked scientists, and left-wing politicians all vilified me for the mere suggestion of investigating the Wuhan lab. Now, the Biden Administration is covering their tracks of denial and finally coming around to what we knew to be true from the start: COVID-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The world deserves to know where the virus came from so we can avoid the next pandemic. China and the World Health Organization hid the truth and should not be trusted.
REP. GAETZ SLAMS ESTABLISHMENT FIGURE PAUL RYAN

Yesterday, before taking the stage in Dalton, Georgia, I spoke with Steve Bannon about the future of the Republican Party. I did not hold back on Paul Ryan, who is known for keeping Obamacare alive, being weak on immigration, and being weak on trade. I will continue to fight for America First, no matter what the Establishment thinks or says.
END PANDEMIC NATIONAL EMERGENCY DECLARATION
This week, I cosponsored Rep. Paul Gosar’s (AZ-04) joint resolution to terminate the COVID-19 emergency declared under the National Emergencies Act (NEA).
Read the full statement below:
“After over a year of living under an emergency declaration with Congress failing to do its due diligence to decide if the emergency should continue, this resolution will force Congress to debate and vote on termination.
Emergency powers were created to give the executive branch flexibility to respond to a range of issues our nation may face. The NEA, like all other emergency powers, adheres to a system of checks and balances by requiring that Congress meet every six months to consider whether the emergency should be terminated. Unfortunately, Congress has been asleep at the wheel, failing to meet and consider the merit of granting the executive power it normally would not have."
Background
The NEA was passed in 1974 to reign in presidential emergency powers which are activated when a formal emergency is declared. Congress must enforce checks and balances on these unique powers by determining whether or not to terminate the emergency six months after it is declared, and every six months after that. Over a year later, Congress still has not met to consider whether the COVID-19 emergency should continue.
This is because Congress has lazily interpreted the law to mean that if no member motions to terminate the emergency, then there is no opposition to it. This blatantly ignores good process, keeping representatives from debating and voting on the merits of continuing the emergency and the unusual powers it gives the President.
COVID cases are down and states are reopening, meaning it is a responsible process for representatives to debate and vote on the merits of extending these emergency powers. This debate needs to happen to ensure Congress is restoring its role in national emergencies and bringing the voice of the American people to the national COVID-19 debate.”
AROUND THE DISTRICT
PENSACOLA BAY BRIDGE RE-OPENS
As we all know, the Pensacola Bay Bridge has been closed since September of last year. I am relieved to announce the Bridge is finally back open as of this morning. The bridge was closed when it was struck by multiple construction barges that escaped their moorings during high winds and seas generated by Hurricane Sally.
See the full statement below:
“PENSACOLA, Fla. – Today, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has re-opened the Pensacola Bay Bridge, restoring the vital connection between the communities of Gulf Breeze and Pensacola along U.S. 98.
The majority of the bridge is open to four lanes of traffic (two in each direction) except for a two-lane, half-mile segment just west of the bridge’s arch while work to complete final repairs continues. The speed limit is temporarily set at 35 mph and emergency refuge areas are available on the bridge.
To quickly clear travel lanes following vehicle incidents, assist drivers in the event of mechanical breakdowns, and keep the bridge free of debris, FDOT’s Road Ranger Service Patrol will be stationed on each end of the bridge from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekends and major holidays. At other times, at least one unit will be on-call and available. Law enforcement will also be on sight 24-hours a day on both ends of the bridge to alert drivers about the temporary restrictions.
Consistent with the requirements within the construction contract, FDOT will continue to withhold payments of $35,000 per day until four lanes of traffic are restored to the entire southbound span of the Pensacola Bay Bridge. FDOT is regularly reviewing the contractor’s schedule of the entire Pensacola Bay Bridge Project with the anticipated completion date for all improvements currently scheduled for January 2022.
At this time, tolls on the Garcon Point Bridge are suspended through Sunday, June 6, 2021. Escambia County Area Transit (ECAT) will soon discontinue service for the Route 61 detour across the Garcon Point Bridge. Normal schedules for Route 61 and Route 64 Beach Jumper will restart. Schedules are located on goecat.com and the ECAT Ride guide.”
TAX HOLIDAY
Florida’s 2021 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday began today (Friday, May 28), and will extend through Sunday, June 6, 2020. PASSPORT AWARENESS
With restrictions on international travel being lifted, I will continue the fight to resist ‘Vaccine Passports,’ and will remind everyone to make sure their real passports are current. With all of the chaos of the Wuhan Virus, plans of travelling outside the U.S. have been on the backburner. Please consult this U.S. Passport website to ensure that you're ready to fly!

LEONARDO HELICOPTERS TO MOVE INTO HELO-HANGER
On Tuesday morning, Commissioners agreed to allow Leonardo to move into the Helo-Hangar, which was just built at the airport and funded with the economic development franchise fee.
The 24-month lease at the hangar will help Leonardo establish its official presence in Santa Rosa County while it begins construction on its 100,000-square-foot support center at Whiting Aviation Park.

The Liberals Who Can’t Quit Lockdown
Last year, when the pandemic was raging and scientists and public-health officials were still trying to understand how the virus spread, extreme care was warranted. People all over the country made enormous sacrifices—rescheduling weddings, missing funerals, canceling graduations, avoiding the family members they love—to protect others. Some conservatives refused to wear masks or stay home, because of skepticism about the severity of the disease or a refusal to give up their freedoms. But this is a different story, about progressives who stressed the scientific evidence, and then veered away from it.
