A True Honor

A few weeks ago in this space I wrote about my excitement to get back on the road again. Well, I had an unexpected opportunity to travel a little farther this week. It was a true honor to travel with Governor Holcomb on his trip this week to Israel. Invited by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Governor Holcomb returned to Israel to show Hoosier support for our friend and ally during this challenging time. He is the first governor to visit the country in over a year and the first US elected official to visit since Hamas resumed their rocket attacks on Israel. We were only in country for a couple days, but it’s an experience I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. To not only show support for Israel, one of our country’s greatest allies, but to experience the history and vibrancy of Jerusalem and walk the same steps as Christ was truly moving.

Indiana has developed a deep friendship with Israel. Culturally, economically, and personally the ties between our state and that nation are strong. When the Prime Minister invited Governor Holcomb to visit and show support, the governor did not hesitate to go. When your friend asks for support, you provide that support enthusiastically. Governor Holcomb left no doubt this week where he and Indiana stands when it comes to Israel.

Thanks

Kyle
