When we first launched our campaign to stop the Republican recall in California, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect.

I knew people would eventually rally to defeat the recall — there’s too much at stake not to — but unless people took this threat early from the start, it could be too late.

But then, moments after we launched, Sheryl, a doctor from Glendale chipped in $25. Seconds later, Alexis, a teacher from Limon added $3 more. $10 from Carla in Chula Vista, $50 more from Rosa in Long Beach and we were off to what has been a record number of donations so far. Thank goodness.

But this end-of-month fundraising deadline is a critical marker on our path to victory, and we are short of where we need to be at this point and are looking to get back on track. So I am asking:

Can you please make a $3 contribution before our end-of-month fundraising deadline comes to a close? We need a lot of contributions in a short amount of time to hit our goals.

We have made an extraordinary amount of progress seeing our way through the economic and health care challenges presented by COVID. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel — we can all see it. Let’s not let far-right Republicans get in the way and take us backward.
