John –
Today, we are thrilled that President Biden has kept his campaign promise by submitting his budget without the Hyde Amendment. This marks the first time in decades that a president has submitted a budget without the Hyde Amendment!
Ending the Hyde Amendment in his presidential budget fits squarely within President Biden’s stated priorities of racial equity and economic security. It is also in line with the majority of the public—6 in 10 Americans—who believe Medicaid insurance should cover abortion services, just as it covers other pregnancy-related care. Tell President Biden you are part of the majority and say thanks! <[link removed]>
Thank President Biden for removing the Hyde Amendment from his budget. <[link removed]>
This historic step would not have been possible without the leadership of women of color, who have been organizing in their communities and educating elected leaders on the impact of this policy and why we need it gone. Now, it’s up to Congress to continue this momentum and pass federal appropriations bills without abortion coverage bans, including the Hyde Amendment. Take a moment to say thanks to President Biden and join us as we take our fight to Congress next. <[link removed]>
Thanks for all you do,
