This week I earned a badge of honor for any progressive: Fox News’ Laura Ingraham attacked me for speaking the truth about one of their favorite talking points.

The GOP’s new favorite tactic is to spin lies about ‘Critical Race Theory.’ They need to avoid talking about what really happened on January 6th, but they also know that their policy ideas are deeply unpopular with a majority of people. So they turn to waging their culture war and getting folks riled up about racial equity.

At Tuesday’s debate, I made it clear that CRT is not being taught in our schools and that Republicans don’t even know what it is.

Let me be clear: Republicans are attacking me because they are afraid of our movement. The far-right GOP nominee for Lt. Governor, Winsome Sears, brings up ‘Critical Race Theory’ at any chance she gets.

They’re scared that if I’m the nominee, I will dismantle their nonsense talking points and win Virginia for Democrats. While they talk about ‘Critical Race Theory’, I’ll be talking about the real issues that matter to Virginians, such as investing in high-quality education, fighting climate change, raising the minimum wage, and creating a fair criminal justice system.
