Dear friend,
The media may have lost interest but our activism is growing in strength
and will not stop.
This month's latest bombardment of Gaza has left, to date, 219 people dead,
including 63 children, with hundreds injured and over 58,000 people
homeless and seeking refuge. Homes have been destroyed, the offices of
media organisations and health clinics have been bombed - including Gaza's
only COVID-19 testing lab.
CAAT IS CALLING FOR AN IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION INTO WHETHER UK-MADE ARMS
HAVE BEEN USED IN THE ONGOING BOMBARDMENT OF GAZA.
We know that during this month's attacks, Israeli forces have used advanced
F-35 fighter jets. We also know that 15% of the value of each aircraft is
made here in the UK, with arms producers boasting that "the fingerprints of
British ingenuity" are vital to the warplanes. Reports also point to the
use of F-16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters, both of which include
UK-made components and have played a key role in the bombing and were
"almost certainly" used during Israel's 2009 bombing campaign in Gaza.
Email your MP today and demand that the UK government act now to end its
complicity in these atrocities. [1]
Since 2015, the UK has licensed over £400 million worth of arms to Israeli
forces and we know that the amount of exports will be significantly higher.
Furthermore, reviews conducted by the government found evidence that UK
arms were "likely" to have been used in Israel's 2014 and 2009 bombing
campaigns that left thousands of Palestinians in Gaza dead, including
hundreds of children.
Use our tool to take immediate action and email your MP to demand they
support EDM 138 and speak out in Parliament. [1]
Thank you for your support.
