Today, we wanted to reach out with some exciting news: Our next campaign initiative to keep Katie in Congress, the Katie Porter Defense Fund, is officially launching.
By now, you’re likely aware of the threats that Katie faces when it comes to her seat in Congress. Earlier this year, the National Republican Congressional Committee announced that Katie is a top target to unseat in 2022. A couple months later, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee placed Katie on their Frontline Members list—which is a list of the most vulnerable House Democrats facing re-election in 2022.
What’s more, California is one of the few states that will lose a seat in the House of Representatives in the redistricting process. There’s a chance that Katie’s district could look very different after this process, and she'll need the resources to reach and establish meaningful connections with new potential constituents ahead of her 2022 re-election.
So, for all these reasons (and more!), we’re kicking off a brand-new initiative for the sole purpose of keeping Katie in Congress. And John, we’re asking for your support in helping make it as big of a success as possible.
