Dear John,
I have some great news to share with you!
As part of our campaign against cruel mobile zoos we have been working to persuade councils to ban these businesses from their events and from council owned land.
Mobile zoos are businesses which use animals, usually wild species, as props for human entertainment. ([link removed]) They travel around the UK with the animals locked in cramped containers, and exploit the animals in displays and interactive events. At children's birthday parties, summer fetes, school talks and many other events, the animals are put on display and often passed around to be held.
Hundreds of animals suffer in this industry, all in the name of entertainment.
Thanks to the donations of our kind supporters, we have produced a fact-filled report about the horrors of the industry, which outlines why councils should ban these businesses from their land. ([link removed])
This year we have sent out 315 copies of the report - one for each council in England!
We have also been working closely with a few select local authorities, working with representatives to secure bans.

I am delighted to share some promising news!
Ten councils have banned mobile zoos from their land or state they are unlikely to allow a mobile zoo to use their land. ([link removed])
This is such a fantastic start and strengthens our calls to other councils to do the same!
