We warned that distrust created by the third 2020 election audit in Arizona would spread like wildfire, and we were right. Following waves of misinformation, Donald Trump and Georgia gubernatorial candidate Vernon Jones have declared that Georgia is next.
Georgia -- having already completed THREE recounts and an absentee ballot audit -- solidified the Democratic majority in the Senate.
John, we can't afford to destabilize Georgians' faith in our elections. If we let this happen, it will only lead to more voter suppression in Georgia. Our margins in the state in 2020 were incredibly thin, and now is the time to build momentum and solidify a progressive future for Georgia -- not drag it back under conservative control.
We have to stop the audit and refocus on combating voter suppression to keep our elections free and fair. But with Trump's constant influence and Vernon Jones' growing popularity, we may be in trouble.
