The world’s leading energy organization just released a jaw-dropping new report:
In order to keep the global average temperature from rising more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels -- the benchmark we must meet in order to avoid irreversible damage from climate change -- we need to make the shift to a clean energy economy NOW.
It’s an understatement to say that this won’t be a politically easy feat.
But as a scientist and former clean energy entrepreneur, I’m pushing for aggressive climate action that’s based on the best evidence available -- not the climate in Washington. I need your help to keep up the fight: Will you help us raise the remaining $13,207 we need to hit our end-of-month fundraising goal before the deadline hits in just 3 days?
Right now, we have just one question to ask ourselves: “Will our grandchildren be proud of us?”
They will if we act. If we stop pretending physics is negotiable. If we stop patting ourselves on the back for baffling half measures and make the commitment that is required in this era of consequences.
They will if we recognize that the greatest gift we have been given is a planet that’s “just right” -- and if we step up to ensure that we give them no less than our grandparents bequeathed to us.
