Hi friends,

From Kotzebue to Bethel to Kwethluk to Fort Yukon, I’ve heard from folks all over rural Alaska about what is needed for sustainability to our villages.

Rural Alaskans are dealing with unprecedented extreme natural disasters due to the climate crisis, we need updated infrastructure to better our rural economy and transportation, and increases to public safety services and more.

Many of these challenges have existed in these rural communities for decades.

I am reaching out today to say that I will not only listen and work to bring solutions to all our communities, but I will involve them in the process every step of the way. [[link removed]]

Many of the rural communities I visit have rarely felt involved in the policy decisions that affect their lives. If we want to address the climate crisis that disproportionately impacts these communities, grow access to high speed broadband internet, housing utilizing local resourced energy, fix our school system, including early language retention programs for all of the children in these areas and so much more, we must change our approach, both here and in Washington DC.
