Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter has been indicted on 60 counts of
conspiracy and wire fraud. He barely won reelection last year, and he's
one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the entire Congress in 2020.

Now Duncan Hunter been caught sending out a racist campaign mailer
smearing his opponent, Ammar Campa-Najjar.(1) It's a vicious, Trump-style
attack that falsely links Campa-Najjar, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib to
anti-semitism and terrorism.

This is a critical test of whether racism and white supremacy can continue
to win in America. Courage Campaign helped power the blue wave in 2018

The latest campaign mailer contains the same racist, Islamophobic rhetoric
Hunter has peddled for years. (In fact, Campa-Najjar is Christian.)

Hunter was one of the first Republicans to endorse Trump in 2016 and has
voted with him 100% of the time in this Congress.(2) He's way out of step
with the voters of San Diego on issues like protecting immigrants' rights
and the environment.

Because of big-money campaign contributions and name recognition, Hunter
has been reelected time and again in his Republican-leaning district. Last
year he even eked out a win after he and his wife were charged with
misusing $250,000 of his campaign funds.

But now we have a huge opportunity to win this seat back.

Hunter's wife is cooperating with prosecutors. A judge just refused to
drop the case and says the trial is on for September.(3) The district has
been trending away from Republicans for years, and the smears against
Campa-Najjar show how desperate Hunter has become.
