Kim Olson for Congress

Jack xxxxxx,

President Trump’s decision to abandon our Kurdish allies on the border with Syria is immoral and slaps the face of those who believe in the military creed to leave no one behind. As a retired Air Force Colonel, I know this Commander in Chief is making it harder for our men and women in uniform to do their jobs.

This withdrawal sends an unsettling message to our allies across the globe that building a Trump Tower is more important than sound military strategy. The President should spend more time listening to our experienced military leaders and boots on the ground and less time on the phone with authoritarians.

Unlike many of his cabinet, I served my country for almost three decades and know what it's like to be on the frontlines, depending on your brothers and sisters in arms. I’ve also experienced the negative impacts of foreign policy decisions based on political ambitions rather than advice of seasoned military leaders.

Washington needs more seasoned leaders, and as the next congresswoman from Texas’ 24th District, I will bring expertise to the halls of Congress.

I join lawmakers from both sides of the aisle in condemning Trump’s reckless decision to desert important allies in the face of sure destruction.

The military needs better leadership,

Kim
