Dear Friend,

May is AAPI heritage month and we’re delighted to celebrate the diversity within the Asian Pacific Islander community despite these challenging times. For the last 15 years, Adhikaar has focused on uplifting the voices and leadership of Nepali-speaking immigrants, especially low-wage workers and women, because we know that the long term solution to combating systemic violence and injustice is through building the power of those historically marginalized and oppressed.

We’re at a critical moment to continue building on our work. We’re asking you to donate to Adhikaar today to help us continue our work in dismantling systemic violence and rebuilding systems that work for all of us.

Too often our intersectional experiences—the ways race, gender, immigration status, and employment—impact our lives are rendered invisible and the stories of AAPI communities, especially Nepali-speaking women are not seen, recognized, or heard. Through our narrative and leadership development work, members are beginning to think critically about who holds power and how power can be shifted through organizing. Together we are developing a new community of women movement leaders who are pushing gender, class and other boundaries within their families, in their places of work, and within and outside the halls of government.

Your generosity will allow us to continue our work. We know that by investing in our members and their leadership, we are building power for low-income immigrant workers, especially women and those with limited literacy, to create broader change.

We invite you to be a part of this, and donate today.

In solidarity,

Pabitra Khati Benjamin,

Executive Director, Adhikaar
