WomenHeart, in partnership with the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine, released a new report that presents ideas for patient-centered research that could improve the diagnostic process for women. The result of a collaborative meeting of experts funded by a Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award, this is a great resource for those who want to improve care for women with heart disease.

WomenHeart hosted a HeartTalks webinar with Dr. Karol Watson earlier this month. Sponsored by Pfizer, the webinar discussed what women with heart disease need to know about the COVID-19 vaccine, and two WomenHeart Champions shared their experiences deciding to get the vaccine. Watch it here.
Class of 2019.jpgApplication for 2021 Science & Leadership Symposium is Now Open
WomenHeart is currently recruiting women with heart disease to attend our training for new WomenHeart Champions. Applicants must be a woman with heart disease, at least 18 years old, and be three months out since their most recent major heart event. The Science and Leadership Symposium will take place virtually with Mayo Clinic faculty starting in mid-September. The deadline to apply is July 7. Help spread the word.

On May 11, WomenHeart announced that the Board of Directors elected Kathy Webster as the new Chair of the Board. Kathy has been a WomenHeart Champion since 2006 and has served previous terms on the Board. Read the press release.
