Hello John,

Campaign Update

Our volunteer-driven grassroots campaign walked in Crown Point, Rancho Bernardo: What the Voters Told Us

We canvassed the neighborhoods of Crown Point (September 29) and Rancho Bernardo (October 5) to survey hundreds of residents. In visits to both communities, we found a genuine desire for real change at City Hall.

Voters in Crown Point expressed concern about how illegal short-term vacation rentals are eroding neighborhood quality of life.

Voters in Rancho Bernardo told us they spend too much time in traffic jams because they lack viable transportation options.

But the overriding priority in both communities was better job performance from elected officials. One Crown Point resident put it this way: “I’m not interested in left-right politics. I just want local government to work for us and our neighborhoods.”

And a Rancho Bernardo resident thanked us for stopping by: “I am glad you visited me or I would never have known about Barbara.”

Help spread the good word! Our next Neighborhood Walk is this Saturday, October 12 at 12362 Springhurst Drive - 92128, starting at 9 am. For more information, contact [email protected]. Hope to see you there!

Run Women Run to Barbara: We’re With You, Go For It!

Barbara’s September 26 endorsement by Run Women Run was an emotional high point. She founded the group in 2008, before she ever considered running for office herself, to support other women in seeking leadership positions.

Eleven years later, Barbara stood before dozens of women candidates competing at every level of government to ask for their support. The message that night was clear: Women can and WILL make a difference in 2020!

"As Mayor, I will bring leadership that prioritizes fiscal discipline, stands up to special interests, treats all residents and communities fairly, and creates comprehensive solutions to long-standing problems.
I’m a problem-solver, not a career politician."
- Barbara Bry

Change Begins With ME Forum: Authenticity and Substance Carry the Day

Barbara delivered a compelling performance at the October 6 Change Begins With ME Mayoral Forum at Mission Bay Montessori Academy. She gave focused and specific answers about challenges like first-mile/last-mile transit and permanent supportive housing for unsheltered families. And she showed passion and sincerity in explaining how her real-world experience (investigative journalist, job-creating entrepreneur) uniquely equips her to disrupt City Hall’s culture of secrecy and deceit.

“My life has been all about getting things done,” Bry told a receptive audience, “and your choice in this election is clear: either ‘more of the same’ or a change agent with a track record of success.”

Volunteer Spotlight

Team BB 2020 Volunteer Spotlight: Shamail Amiri

Shamail was only a teenager when she fled her native Afghanistan to escape Taliban violence. She settled in America, brought her orphaned siblings here to safety, and carried on her mother’s work on behalf of Afghan women and children. Her extraordinary heroism earned her a 2018 Soroptimist La Jolla Live Your Dream Award. Today, Shamail is a UCSD student, a U.S. citizen, and a proud volunteer for Barbara Bry for Mayor 2020.

“I’m volunteering for Barbara because she has taken strong stands on issues I care about, like strengthening communities, supporting education, and protecting the environment. She has helped so many women succeed in business and run for public office. And Barbara sincerely cares about people of ALL backgrounds. That’s what San Diego needs in our next mayor.
