Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day – an ideal opportunity to smash the stigma around periods… even if you don’t experience them! We’ve written all about why this matters – will you read and share?

Period stigma can be hugely damaging for girls, women, and people who menstruate around the world. It can lead to young people missing school, sometimes even dropping out before they’ve completed their education – a factor which increases the likelihood of early marriage and getting pregnant at a young age.

In other words, period stigma holds girls and women back in life, and one simple thing we can all be doing to tackle this is to talk more openly, honestly, and factually about menstruation.
