The State of California has announced the nation's largest and most ambitious COVID-19 vaccine incentive plan to date. Getting residents vaccinated is the single most important tool we have to save lives and safely reopen our schools and businesses. This is why every Californian who has received at least one vaccine dose will be entered to win up to $1.5 million at a drawing on June 15.

You can get vaccinated against COVID-19, no appointment needed, at our Long Beach Convention Center or at one of our many mobile clinics which are listed here.

Over 185,000 people have received at least their first dose here in Long Beach, and thanks to the incredible work of our Health Department staff, 64% of eligible adults have been vaccinated. Our success in rolling out this program has already saved countless lives, but there's still work to be done.

We have to keep vaccinating more and more people. It’s the only way to keep COVID-19 at bay. That's why in Long Beach I've been firmly committed to doing everything we can — including our ongoing incentive program. In addition to incentives the State has made available, Long Beach is doing daily drawings for prizes, and anyone who receive their first dose is eligible to win. This week's prizes are a choice of Apple AirPods or a stay in one of our amazing Long Beach hotels. You can find more information on our incentive program and prizes here.

These incentive programs are working in Long Beach, in California, and around the country. I am heartened by all the work that is going into keeping our community safe from this deadly virus.
