With wealth inequality at record highs, Democrats know it's time for the wealthy to pay their fair share in taxes so that all Americans can prosper.
With majorities in both chambers of Congress and a bold, progressive agenda being pushed by President Biden, talk has turned to the taxes that will pay for it all. And the Republican Party is saying loud and clear that if we raise taxes on giant corporations and their ultra-rich donors, the GOP will just cut taxes again when they regain power.
Republicans aren't even hiding their pure political gamesmanship. They're ignoring the fact that voters elected Democrats in 2020 because Americans want to tax the rich. In fact, support for President Biden's infrastructure agenda goes up when you mention that it's paid for with taxes on the wealthy.
Instead, House and Senate Republicans are doing everything they can to protect the huge tax giveaways they gave to big corporations and billionaires in 2017 because it's the single biggest piece of legislation that Donald Trump passed.
Republicans are still making laws based on Donald Trump's feelings while ignoring the dire situations of everyday Americans.
