Hi,
Big Oil won't go down easily.
This week, they were dealt a number of defeats at the hands of
shareholders and the courts.
- ExxonMobil's shareholders voted in new board members backed by an
activist hedge fund highlighting the company's failure to address the
climate crisis as a bad business strategy.
- 61% of Chevron's shareholders voted to reduce carbon
emissions.
- The Hague in the Netherlands ordered Royal Dutch Shell to reduce
carbon emissions 45% from 2019 levels by the year 2030.
Although these examples signal a shift in global consciousness from
the marketplace to the health of the planet, we know that Big Oil has
footholds on Capitol Hill and will stop at nothing to push their own
agenda.
That's why we need your grassroots voices to fight for
sustainability and a clean energy economy. Write your lawmakers today and demand they
support the American Jobs Plan.
The American Jobs Plan aims to put people back to work in ways that
accelerate the fight against climate change. It puts us on course to
utilize 100 percent clean power by 2035, divesting from the fossil
fuel industry for good.
Your voice can help secure this future by contacting
Congress today. Our lawmakers are ultimately responsible to
their constituents, and they know we can vote them out if they
continue to deny science and ignore our demands.
Contact your members of Congress and tell them to
support the American Jobs Plan and a new way forward.
We're counting on you,
Kathleen Rogers President
