It’s a big week for our movement,

The New Yorker published a profile piece on Justice Democrats, featuring
our role in insurgent Democratic primary challenges. It discussed our work
of ushering in a new political era of previously unthinkable change in
mainstream politics.

Justice Democrats was born out of a need for a Democratic Party that will
fight for its voters, not big corporate donors, and elect mission-driven
candidates willing to fight for bold, progressive change. We know that the
values that guide this work will resonate with many readers of The New
Yorker and are excited to bring them into the fold.

The New Yorker story is exciting, but we know that the political
revolution won’t happen in the pages of a magazine. The transformation of
our political system grows more likely when people — including readers of
The New Yorker — recognize that the system is fundamentally flawed and
organize to change it.

We shocked the world when we organized to unseat a long-time corporate
Democrat to elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Then in 2020, we did it again
and again. We aren’t electing career politicians with big donor lists and
giant war chests. We are working to elect working-class organizers and
visionaries who will fight for the change our country so desperately
needs.
