Oswego Honors Veterans Week continues with free events all Memorial Day weekend, including Friday night's Let Freedom Ring Rock N Roll Concert and Street Dance, featuring Whiskeyfist (pictured, right).?
Throughout the weekend, you can also visit the Middle East Conflicts Wall of Honor, on display at Oswego Village Hall 24 hours a day, representing servicemen and servicewomen killed in action since 2001.?

Friday, May 28: Let Freedom Ring Rock N Roll Concert & Street Dance, featuring Jason Hubbard and Whiskeyfist, on Main Street, 6-11 p.m.

Saturday, May 29: 144th Army Band, concert at Veterans Serenity Park, 2 p.m.

Sunday, May 30: Springbrook Church's Chicagoland Pops Orchestra, concert at Oswego Entertainment Venue, 1010 Station Drive, 7-8:15 p.m.

Monday, May 31: Memorial Day Parade, presented by American Legion Post 675, Main Street, 10 a.m.

Monday, May 31: Closing Ceremonies at Village Hall, outdoors at 3 p.m.

This year?s Movies in the Park series offers two options for movies-goers ? a drive-in style experience and spots in front for an outdoor experience.?
The first film is?The Croods: A New Age on Thursday, June 3.?Movies begin at twilight, between approximately 8:30 and 8:50 p.m. Entry starts at 7 p.m. at the new Oswego Entertainment Venue (at the site of the former Park N Ride lot), 1010 Station Drive.?
Movies in the Park are free, and no registration is required. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your own lawn chairs for outdoor seating, which will be in the parking lot in front of the big screen. Get all the details!

On Tuesday, June 1, crews will close the Barnaby Drive bridge over Waubonsee Creek in Victoria Meadows and the Pearce?s Ford bridge over Waubonsee Creek in Mill Race to perform scheduled maintenance and repairs.
Detour signs will be posted. Work will be done concurrently on both bridges and is expected to be complete by the Fourth of July. Read more.?
Applications are now available for the?Oswego Police & Fire Department?s annual Oswego Junior Public Safety Academy. The academy is free and open to any student enrolled in a District 308 Junior High School for the 2021 ? 2022 school year.? Topics covered include traffic stops, crime scene investigation, K-9 demonstrations, fire extinguishing, and more!
Sessions run June 21-25 and July 12-16. Applications are due? Thursday, June 3, and spots are available on a first-come, first served basis. Get details.?

Memorial Day?
Village Hall is closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. Garbage collection is postponed one day. Join us for the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Oswego, beginning at 10 a.m. and for Closing Ceremonies of the Middle East Conflicts Wall of Honor, beginning at 3 p.m. The facility will remain open until 3 p.m. for viewing the Wall of Honor.?
