Wildfires, heat waves, hurricanes, and floods are growing more extreme and frequent by climate change, and it’s taking a crushing toll — with Black, brown, and Indigenous communities disproportionately bearing the burden.

The reality is that climate-fueled weather events are displacing millions of Americans (1.2 million in 2018 alone!) and wreaking havoc on public health.

Yes, we must reduce the climate-burning carbon pollution that is fueling climate change. But our fight MUST also prioritize preparedness and efforts to get people out of harm’s way — and it MUST do so in a way that is equitable and just.
