Hi —

TELL US YOU CALLED!

The next few days are going to be pivotal for President Biden’s American Jobs Plan, the most ambitious action on climate change, ever. The deadline for negotiations on the bill is Memorial Day — this Monday — which means we have roughly 72 hours to make our voices heard.

The American Jobs Plan is our best shot at addressing climate change  while also centering our economic recovery on good-paying clean energy jobs and environmental injustice.

Pennsylvania voters overwhelmingly approve of making investments in climate, clean energy jobs, and justice. But with the clock ticking, we need your help to ensure our leaders move forward with a big, bold plan that meets the moment. That’s why we’re participating in a Day of Action today with our friends in the Conservation Voter Movement to bolster as much support as we can for this once-in-generation opportunity to build back better.

Big polluters don’t want you to know this, but investing in clean energy = JOBS. Nationally, clean energy is the fastest-growing industry in America, and President Biden’s plan could create roughly a quarter-million jobs annually here in Pennsylvania. This investment provides a huge opportunity for high-quality, union jobs that help rebuild the middle class.

The American Jobs Plan could be the most important environmental plan in decades — a real chance to build a clean future for America's transportation and energy infrastructure.

But with razor-thin majorities in the House and Senate and not a moment of time left to spare, we can't afford to lose any votes in either chamber and we don’t want to see the bill get watered down. And that's the problem — the oil and gas industries are running a well-funded pressure campaign to try and flip enough votes to block environmental investments — and we're worried it's working.

Decisions will get made this weekend about the scope of the American Jobs Plan. We need our leaders to stay bold and meet the scale of the crises we face with the investments needed to truly build back better with justice and equity.

Thanks for all that you do.
