I’m excited to introduce you to our new Chief Political Officer: veteran political strategist Christopher Scott! 

Chris has hit the ground running, already leading our political team. That’s everything from electoral, organizing, and messaging staff to managing implementation of all our electoral campaigns, including our 50-State Strategy, Purple to Blue, and Criminal Justice Reform work.

Thanks to his leadership, our Flip the South campaign ramps up this weekend to keep Virginia blue with in-state door knocking, person to person phone banking, and our national Text Out The Vote program, all moving into high gear before the June primary elections just around the corner.

Chris began his career interning for Congressman John Lewis and then working on President Obama’s re-election campaign. He was Kim Foxx’s deputy campaign manager for her DFA-endorsed Cook County State’s Attorney re-election campaign and executive director of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus, the nation's oldest legislative Black caucus.

Chris has a long track record of success and we’re honored he’s joined the team. This couldn't come at a more critical time. 

We have been hard at work with our 2021 candidates to bring progressive change to all levels of government, while also beginning to strategize, endorse, and build winning campaigns for our 2022 candidates.

You know that as part of our 50-State Strategy, we are prioritizing flipping the south. We made it happen in Virginia and Georgia, and we believe with sufficient resources, sound strategy and tireless effort, we can flip North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, and Louisiana too. 

Which means that Chris is going to work especially hard to elect down-ballot candidates and execute our Flip the South strategy, but that’s where I need your help today.
