Friend --

Under Gov. Ron DeSantis' watch, more than 36,000 Floridians have died from COVID-19. Yet, instead of trying to prevent any more deaths, DeSantis is now handing out “get out of jail free” cards to those who broke the rules designed to keep people safe.

On Fox News recently, Gov. DeSantis made the announcement that he plans to pardon all Florida residents who were convicted of violating COVID ordinances, such as masking or social distancing requirements.

One example he used was of a Florida couple who operated a gym and refused to obey local mask laws. The couple was arrested three times and ordered to shut their gym down. Now, they could have their charges dropped because DeSantis only cares about his political ambitions.

DeSantis never wanted to put any restrictions in place to battle the coronavirus. He was one of the loudest voices in the GOP railing against masks and social distancing even at the height of the pandemic. He has blood on his hands, and he is trying to make us forget that by getting rid of the evidence.

The good news is that Ron DeSantis will have to face the voters in 2022. Democrats cannot leave someone responsible for tens of thousands of senseless deaths in charge of the safety of Floridians any longer.

Democrats can flip the governor's mansion in Florida blue in 2022. With your support, we'll do just that. Thanks.
