=============================

Dear John,

Thank you for joining us on May 3 for Fighting Corporate Power with Deeper Democracy. If you missed our conversation, you can find the recording here [[link removed]] .

The panel conversation, hosted by the Partnership for Working Families, was a dynamic exploration of how corporations take control of our democratic processes and the possibilities of participatory democracy to fight this corporate interference. And it brought together powerful thought and movement leaders from across our network and allies. Our conversation was moderated by Dr. Kyra Greene, Executive Director of the Center on Policy Initiatives and the Partnership’s Board President. We were joined by Dr. Nancy MacLean, author of Democracy in Chains [[link removed]] ; Odessa Kelly, Executive Director of Stand Up Nashville; and our own Lauren Jacobs, Executive Director of the Partnership for Working Families. We shared the findings from our newest reports, one on corporate interference and another on building deeper democracy, and discussed how developing deeper democratic processes through our current organizing practices can help us meet the urgent demands of our moment.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to read our reports, Unmasking Corporate Interference: How Corporations Keep Wages Low and Rents High and Democracy Out of Reach [[link removed]] details these corporate strategies – and the particular corporate culprits pushing these policies.

You can also learn more about participatory democratic processes that can build power in our communities, learn about case studies, and find an organizing toolkit at www.peoplepoweredbudgets.org [[link removed]] .

In solidarity,

Felicia Griffin
Deputy Director
