There’s no question that President Joe Biden won the November election.

But that hasn't stopped Donald Trump and his allies from repeatedly lying about the results and promoting his Big Lie. A lie that was repeated over and over and over again, until it led to what happened on January 6.

On that day, a violent mob not only tried to overturn the results of a free and fair election, they invaded and desecrated the seat of our democracy, threatening the lives of members of Congress, staff, and law enforcement officers and officials. Five people died, including a Capitol Police officer, and approximately 140 officers were injured.

We have a duty to find the truth about who was there, who funded the insurrectionists, and how we can make sure that our democracy never again faces that same threat.

Thanks to the efforts of brave Capitol police officers and the National Guard, the January 6th insurrection was thwarted, but Donald Trump's lies continue. Even worse, they’re echoed today even by legislators whose lives were put at risk on that grim day.
