We need more than thoughts and prayers.
We need action.

John, at least eight people were shot and killed and at least
one person was injured at a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority
(VTA) yard in San Jose, California this morning. According to authorities,
at least some of the victims were VTA employees. While we are still
learning the details of this deadly tragedy, our hearts are with the
victims, their loved ones, and everyone impacted by yet another mass
shooting in the United States.
Today's mass shooting also comes right after a weekend where gun violence
dominated the headlines: In states including Minneapolis, New Jersey,
Ohio, South Carolina, and Illinois, gun violence devastated communities
and left dozens of people shot and killed or injured.
John, we don't have to live like this. Every day in the U.S. on
average, more than 100 people are killed with guns, and more than 200 are
wounded.
Our elected officials must take bipartisan action now to help end this gun
violence crisis.
