I just checked in with my finance team, and it looks like we might not hit our May fundraising goal if we don't pick up the pace. The money we raise early on will have a bigger impact than any last-minute surge before an election -- which is why we can't risk falling behind so soon.

It took a strong grassroots team to win in 2018, but listen, we're gearing up for our toughest fight yet in 2022. Inside Elections, Cook Political Report, The Kansas City Star, AND Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight are all calling me one of the most vulnerable Democrats up for re-election in the country, so we have to start planning ahead now.
Everything from voter outreach, running our email program, hosting campaign events, and building a volunteer program costs money. That's why our team sets end-of-month fundraising goals, so we can stay on top of fundraising and invest in this race early.
