Last night, two of our potential Republican opponents took the debate stage to see who could go the furthest to pass the Donald Trump litmus test.

It was a terrifying sideshow of lies, conspiracy theories, dog-whistles, and divisive rhetoric with one clear purpose: riling up their far-right base.

No matter which candidate emerges from the Republican primary as Trump’s standard-bearer, it’s clear they are both hell-bent on dragging New Jersey backwards.

We can’t let that happen. That’s why we need to do everything we can to build a true grassroots campaign that brings people together around the issues that matter most to New Jerseyans.
