CNN: “Senior Republicans are making clear they have little interest in moving forward with a sweeping January 6 investigation in part because a detailed probe could become politically damaging and amount to a distraction for their party just as control of Congress is at stake in next year's midterm elections.”
That's right. Mitch McConnell wants us to move on from the attempted coup that endangered hundreds of his fellow lawmakers so his party can score political points.
Capitol police officers -- who risked their lives to protect the same Republicans who are now defending insurrectionists -- have expressed their “profound disappointment” in the GOP's opposition to a bipartisan commission. So let's make it clear we're not backing down.
The House has already passed a resolution to establish the commission, with Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying, “It sounds like Republicans are scared of the truth.” Please, help us send a clear message to Congress:
