Friend,

BREAKING NEWS: Our #ImmigrantsAreEssential narrative change project won the Shorty Award for Best Integrated Campaign. Shorty Awards recognize the most impactful social media and digital campaigns, and our work beat out major corporations for the top prize — because of the power of our message.

Our message is having a deep impact, Friend. Through our work, more Americans have recognized the vital role immigrants play in our communities, and there’s overwhelming support for a pathway to citizenship for immigrants — in Congress and at the ballot box.

We will continue to make noise in Washington, DC, to make sure that politicians hear what all of us already know: Immigrants are essential, and it’s time to recognize them with a full, inclusive pathway to citizenship.

In fact, as I write this email, we are in the nation’s capital sharing the stories of immigrant essential workers — on LED trucks around Capitol Hill, and posters at bus stops, and in coffee shops. And June 1-8, we’ll be at the Roost in Washington DC displaying Paola Mendoza’s art exhibit telling the stories of immigrant essential workers.

Through our #ImmigrantsAreEssential narrative and culture change project, we are commissioning artists who bring the stories of immigrants to life. We’re creating conversation online so that thousands of people can demand action. Every immigrant essential worker’s story we share represents the stories of millions more. Together, we’re making sure that people who are essential to the nation get the essential recognition and relief they deserve.

As we begin our recovery from the COVID-19 health crisis, we must ensure that every essential worker — including immigrants — is paid, protected, and honored with a pathway to citizenship. #ImmigrantsAreEssential is our chance to raise our voices and ensure that politicians act. Please give now to help us continue our work to highlight the central role of immigrants in our nation and our shared recovery.

As we call on Congress to recognize that all immigrants are essential, we must continue to band together. Your partnership helps ensure we can finally secure a pathway to citizenship for all immigrants.

Thanks for joining us in this work.

Sincerely,

Marielena Hincapié

Executive Director, National Immigration Law Center
