They were crowded together in a small room. The dilapidated trailer was not safe for any person or animal to be in. The sunlight was shut out, and there was no ventilation—the odor was overwhelming with dangerous levels of ammonia. More than 90 dogs—including tiny puppies—were living in these dangerous and neglectful circumstances when we arrived to help. |
At the request of the Belmont County Animal Rescue League, the ASPCA is helping to rescue these neglected dogs from a property in Shadyside, Ohio. Our team on the ground is assisting with removing the dogs, collecting evidence, performing forensic exams, providing medical and behavioral care, and then transporting them to safety at an emergency shelter. |
Many of the dogs were found with untreated medical conditions, some appeared to have open wounds, and many were extremely fearful. Their journey to recovery has only just begun, and we know it can be a long road ahead. We will continue to provide medical and behavioral care for these dogs.
We are thankful for caring supporters like you, who make it possible to bring suffering animals to safety. Please give what you can today. |
