News travels fast! Many of you may have heard by now that some big changes are afoot at Liberty Fund. We know that Liberty Fund is important to you, and you’re important to us. So we wanted to take a minute to update all of you on the details of those changes.

STAFFING

Nico Maloberti and Mark Yellin are no longer at Liberty Fund. We thank them for all the years they have given us, and wish them all the best as they move forward.

Long-time Senior Fellow Steve Ealy has accepted a new position as Senior Fellow Emeritus. In this role, he will continue to serve as Liberty Fund Representative and as an observer on a smaller slate of conferences. Steve will also help develop and strengthen relationships with promising individuals and partner organizations and work on special projects in research areas that are important to our strategy.

Doug Den Uyl, long-time Vice President of Educational Programming, will now serve as Vice President Emeritus and Benjamin A. Rogge Resident Scholar. Doug will act as a special advisor to the President & CEO in areas relating to Liberty Fund’s efforts to improve the quality of the conference program, promote the intellectual life of our institution, and grow Liberty Fund’s intellectual capital. Doug will also focus on strengthening Liberty Fund’s relationships with academic institutions and other key partner organizations.

Carol Hommel, whom many of you know from her work as Liberty Fund’s Conference Manager, will move into the new role of Director of Conferences. In this position, Carol will continue to manage the conference program and will support Liberty Fund as we work to create integrated educational programs and digital initiatives that enhance the conference program and other Liberty Fund educational activities.

CONFERENCES

After more than a year in lockdown and 31 virtual conferences, our in-person conference program is coming back to life! Our conference program has always been a fundamental part of what we do, and it’s been hard to wait until air travel, hotels, and restaurants were ready to welcome us back and help us host the lively discussions that are so important for what we do. We can’t wait to get back on the road!

Liberty Fund remains, and will always remain, committed to our mission of encouraging a free and responsible society. We thank you all for sharing that mission with us.
