2019 ASAN Annual Gala Wednesday November 13, 2019 Washington Marriott at Metro Center Join us for our annual celebration and fundraising event at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC. Dinner and dessert will be served and a reception will precede dinner. Proceeds will support our advocacy work and programs for the coming year, and allow us to continue working to empower disabled people across the country.
We’re happy to announce that Sara Luterman is receiving the Harriet McBryde Johnson Award for Nonfiction! Sara Luterman is a multiply disabled journalist and commentator based in Washington DC. Her work has appeared in Slate, The Washington Post, Radiolab, and Undark Magazine, among other outlets. She has covered a broad variety of topics, all with a focus on making neurodiversity and disability rights concepts accessible to mainstream audiences. She also serves on the board of Autspace, a conference by and for autistic people. We look forward to hearing from Sara at our annual gala and hope that you can come celebrate with us!
