Dear Friend,
The last few weeks have been incredibly painful as together we witnessed Israeli forces attack peaceful protestors, steal more Palestinian land, and bomb Palestinian families. During this time, AAI has been incredibly busy behind the scenes, talking to policymakers, opinion-makers, and community leaders about what justice for Palestine looks like. Of course, Jim has been leading much of this work, getting the message out that the American public is ready for and wants to see a policy change and one that moves significantly toward justice for Palestine.
[[link removed]] I want to share some of this incredible work with you now, including a front page, above the fold, New York Times quote summarizing the sea change we are witnessing. This work is only possible because of your support and steadfastness. But we can't stop now. Even after the cease-fire, we see the ongoing violence and must continue to demand a change in U.S. policy. That's why, AAI will be releasing a poll Thursday on the change in American attitudes toward Israel and Palestine and I hope you will join us and continue standing for Palestinian human rights.
Click here to register [[link removed]] and join us Thursday for the poll release and check out the media excerpts below.
Thank you for all you do and for all you make possible,
Maya

“In the 40-odd years I’ve been working on these issues full time, I’ve never seen this level of support for Palestinian rights and challenging the status quo,” said James Zogby, the president of the Arab American Institute, speaking of grass-roots Democratic support for the Palestinians. “This was an issue the Biden administration hoped to avoid. Now they can’t avoid it.”
Huffington Post , Democrats Are Slowly Getting More Critical Of Israel [[link removed]] :
“There is a far stronger cohort of Democrats in the House and the Senate making statements that have not been made in the past. And that’s noticeable,” said James Zogby, founder and president of the Arab American Institute. “It’s reflective of the shifting demographics within the party, and shifting attitudes within the party.”

“What you have here are two very qualified, very skillful, really smart people who are incidentally of Arab or, in Mehdi’s case, Muslim background, and they’re just doing the job they’re supposed to do.”

Catholics in Gaza. Saying mass w/ no electricity. Israeli bombs hitting everywhere. An apartment building destroyed. A teacher at the Catholic school was given 10 minutes to evacuate. She was 7 months pregnant & went into labor delivering twins. This is the life of Palestinians.
