Indivisibles,
Now that progressives in Congress have shared their top priorities for the
upcoming recovery package, it’s time to do what we do best: leverage
massive public pressure to ensure all those priorities make it into the
final legislation.
The five priorities we’re focused on are crucial to ensuring that the
recovery package is robust, inclusive, and big enough to meet the moment.
Here’s the list:
* Pathway to Citizenship
* Dramatically Lower Drug Prices & Use Savings to Pay for Public Health
Expansion
* Investments in Climate
* Investments in the Care Economy
* Investments in Housing
With Biden’s American Jobs and Families Plans released, Congress is
already working on drafting legislation -- which means we only have a
short window of time (measured in weeks, not months!) for Indivisibles to
put pressure on representatives and senators right now to ensure the
biggest, boldest recovery possible.
The two best ways you can help make that happen:
1. Call your [ [link removed] ]representative and your [ [link removed] ]senators to demand that they
pass a real recovery with all our progressive priorities included and
cosponsor the THRIVE Act to ground recovery efforts in climate, jobs,
and justice.
2. [ [link removed] ]Make a $10 donation to Indivisible Project. Hosting these call
pages, writing and updating explainers, supporting local events, and
everything else we’re doing to push these efforts forward costs us
money -- and we rely on grassroots donors like you to fund our work.
Taking action on recovery is crucial, and we don’t have much time to
waste. Republicans will continue making bad-faith demands for
bipartisanship while working to weaken all our proposals -- but it’s our
job to avoid the bait-and-switch and make sure members of Congress act
with conviction to achieve the biggest, broadest plan they can.
We’ve been endlessly proud of how Indivisibles have stepped up in the last
year to push for real relief and recovery measures. We have a chance now
to do it again, and it’s going to rely on all of us. Thanks for being a
part of it.
In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
