We know that at least 1 in 6 men have experienced sexual abuse or assault.

We also know that the silence surrounding male sexual abuse is twofold: It prevents survivors from coming forward and leads to a lack of understanding of these experiences.
As advocates, supporting these survivors starts with learning about the unique effects that sexual abuse and assault can have on men.

To open up a conversation, we've created a podcast series that focuses on the specific needs of male survivors. Throughout the series, we chat with advocates from organizations across the country who share valuable lessons learned from firsthand experiences working with men. Listen to our ten-episode Male Survivors podcast series for advocates wanting to strengthen their support for men who have experienced sexual abuse and assault.

In this Resource on the Go podcast series, we share ways to support advocates by unpacking common needs they have expressed and tips on how to get started with providing services to male survivors. In our most recent episode, we hear from a program that successfully used storytelling to reach men in their community. The series also looks at issues like how sexual assault impacts transgender men and how to help survivors access support after incarceration.

After checking out the Male Survivors series, we invite you to explore the rest of our podcast collection to continue your learning. You can find NSVRC's podcast, Resource on the Go, on your favorite streaming platform here. When you search our full collection of podcasts, you'll discover episodes on innovative prevention programs, the impact of COVID-19, and more.
