Friend: If the Republican Party won't even take a stand for truth and justice when our democracy is directly attacked, then what will they stand for?

First, they let twice-impeached Donald Trump off the hook without so much as a slap on the wrist. And now Republican leaders Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell and Marco Rubio are lining up to obstruct the bipartisan Jan. 6 commission that will uncover the truth of what happened during that deadly attack on the Capitol and our democracy.

And we are witnessing the Republican Party abandon truth and accountability in deference to Donald Trump, a habitual offender, again. They'd rather be complicit in the former president's "Big Lie" than take actual steps to safeguard our democracy. The modern-day GOP cannot be trusted to do what is right for the American people; they are putting party over country. 

That's why we need to ensure Democrats keep our majority – it's the safeguard for delivering truth, justice, healing and bold progress that will better the lives of the American people. But to protect our majority, we need every person reading this email to donate $5 or more before midnight tonight so we have the resources to fight back.
