John —
Graduation celebrations are happening across Chicagoland. But there’s one thing that no one is celebrating: student loan debt.
Nearly 45 million Americans hold over $1.7 trillion in student loan debt.
And the debt crisis is worse for communities of color — more than 90% of African American and 72% of Latino students have to take out loans to attend college. The student debt crisis only adds to the obstacles and systemic inequalities that these communities face.
That’s why we need big, bold solutions to help uplift these communities.
It’s time to cancel student debt and relieve an entire generation from the crushing burden, made even worse by the COVID-19 economic crisis.
But Team Chuy wants to hear directly from you. Will you take our one question poll and tell us what you think?
