Friend,

There is much going on in our nation right now that requires our conscience, our attention and our change-making efforts. I'm doing all that I can in the Senate to make the change we need, and I wanted to give you a brief update on the work that you help support.

While we fight to overcome the challenges that people across our country are facing, we can also take moments like these to celebrate all the progress we've made. So please, read on to see what we're doing to build a better future. Thank you for building with me.

After passing the American Rescue Plan to provide direct relief to struggling families, we're turning our attention to revitalizing our economy and putting Americans back to work. That's why I'm proud to support President Biden's American Jobs Plan.

The American Jobs Plan will make critical - and overdue - investments in upgrading our nation's crumbling infrastructure, ensuring that every family has access to clean drinking water, broadband internet and so much more.

Put simply: This plan will improve the lives of everyday Americans and put folks back to work in good-paying jobs that prepare us for the future - and I can't wait to help pass it in the Senate.

If the last year has taught us anything, it's that essential workers are the backbone of our economy - and they deserve essential wages.

I'm proudly co-sponsoring the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, a historic piece of labor reform legislation that would strengthen workers' rights and abilities to advocate for themselves. The House has passed a version of it - and President Biden supports the bill, too.

It won't be easy - my Republican colleagues are opposed to the measure. But it's critical we get it passed, and it's a top priority for me to ensure it does.

Just last week, I had the honor of joining President Biden and Vice President Harris at the White House for the signing of the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act into law.

This law will send a clear message to our brothers and sisters in the AAPI community: We stand with you in the fight against hate - and we'll do everything in our power to combat it.

I'm so proud to have played a role in the passage of this important legislation - and was encouraged by its overwhelming bipartisan support.

This grassroots team knows my story: Though I wasn't born with much, faith, family and a bit of luck helped me go from the Kayton Homes housing projects to Morehouse College, the historically Black college that helped shape me into the person I am today.

As a proud graduate of an HBCU, I know just how important these institutions are - so I'm excited to share that I've helped secure nearly $85 million in funding for Georgia HBCUs as part of President Biden's American Rescue Plan.

At a time when many are struggling financially, this critical support will help students pursue higher education, strengthen Georgia's workforce and rebuild our economy. I cannot wait to see how this funding will help our HBCUs and their students excel today and into the future.

This is worrisome news: The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case on Mississippi's restrictive anti-abortion law - and with far-right, anti-choice justices dominating the court, Roe v. Wade could be in serious danger.

I am a pro-choice pastor. I believe in a woman's right to choose because these aren't political decisions - they are personal ones that women should make with their doctor, not the government.

So I say this: Reproductive health care is health care - and it's essential that the Supreme Court uphold precedent to preserve Roe v. Wade. Senate Democrats are working to pass crucial new legislation that would protect reproductive rights - no matter how the court rules - and I'm doing everything in my power to help make it a reality.

That's all for this month's newsletter, friend. I'm grateful as ever for your support, and I'll keep up the fight for you and your family every day I'm in the Senate. More soon.

All my best,

Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock
