☀️Good Wednesday morning.

📚The pandemic exposed the ugly truth that students often come last. Teachers' unions and union-supported school board members are putting their own self-interests ahead of students’ best interests. Parents need leverage. They deserve more control and better options when it comes to their children’s education. We should fund students—not bureaucracies. We must do better. Learn more.

❌Critical Race Theory should not be rewarded with taxpayer money. IWF is taking a stand against the use of taxpayer money to divide Americans along racial lines. Although CRT and “anti-racism” hide behind the mantle of equality, these doctrines, in fact, reject the equality principle and urge us to view one another not as individuals or as Americans, but as members of either an oppressor or victim class on the basis of skin color. Keep reading.
  • CBS News: Tennessee became the latest state to sign into law a bill that bans CRT in schools... joining Oklahoma and Idaho. Several more states are expected to follow.

  • The Hill: 20 state attorneys general penned a letter to the U.S. Department of Education to oppose teaching CRT and the "1619 Project."

The Unintended Consequences of the American Families Plan

President Biden recently unveiled his $1.8 trillion American Families Plan. Biden says he can pay for this massive package by taxing the rich. But sober analysis shows that super-sized government entitlements like these require soaking the middle class, just as they do in Europe. Moreover, the plan's requirements for providers would ultimately make it harder for parents to find lower-cost, more flexible arrangements such as a neighborhood provider, a church daycare, or a parent co-op that aligns with their own needs and preferences. A government-paid leave entitlement may sound like a win, but government-mandated flexibility isn’t flexibility at all.

The Danger of Limiting Transracial Adoption

Bethany Child Services is proposing changes to the Multi-Ethnic Placement Act that would result in fewer black children finding safe and loving homes. These changes would allow race to be a factor in determining adoption placements, which could make it more difficult for white families to adopt non-white children.

Consequences of Emboldening the World’s Greatest State Sponsor of Terrorism

The Biden administration is engaging in diplomatic malpractice by attempting to reenter the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran deal. Reentering JCPOA would give the Iranian regime billions of dollars in sanctions relief, even though Iran has been designated by the State Department as the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism.
