Remaining silent on this matter isn’t an option.
As each day goes by, it seems that another state is passing a new hateful bill aimed at discriminating against the transgender community. This is plain wrong and it has to end.
These anti-trans bills fly in the face of the core values that we stand for in Nevada and across the country.
The value of public service has become upended by attempts to muddy our politics, pitting us against one another -- American against American. We’re not going to allow our transgender brothers and sisters to stand in this fight alone and neither should you.

It’s our job to call out hatred in any form, no matter where it lurks. This includes making sure that such discriminatory legislation never reaches us here in Nevada.
We know that transgender people deserve equal access to health care and education. But, Republicans have shown us, through their hateful bills, that they don’t agree.
Division is oftentimes a tool that bad actors use in an attempt to tear us apart. They do this to try to make us weaker and feel as though we’re powerless.
But if we stand together with the trans community, we can push back against this wave of hate once and for all.
