Hey there - Just wanted to send you a quick update from the southern border. I arrived late yesterday and have been seeing the crisis firsthand in the hours since. Let me tell you: it's as bad as we thought it was.
I went down there as a member of the House Border Security Caucus. Not a single Democrat would join us. They just refuse to face reality.
The trip has been enlightening, disheartening, and frustrating. The Border Patrol Agents we visited with talked extensively about the incredible amount of drugs that are streaming across the border right now. We also saw the overwhelmed detention facilities. There simply isn't enough room to house so many illegal immigrants, and it's creating a desperate humanitarian crisis.
I think the part that's most frustrating to me is that we know how to fix this. I personally worked with President Trump to fund a border wall, and together, we sent criminals back to their own country rather than releasing them in ours. This is a crisis of Biden's own making.
