John,
Earlier this month, Judge Amy Berman Jackson issued a scathing decision in a case brought by CREW. She found that the Department of Justice misled the court about a memo Attorney General Bill Barr used to justify saying that the Mueller Report did not support obstruction of justice charges against Donald Trump and ordered the DOJ to disclose the memo.
Yesterday, the DOJ decided to appeal Judge Jackson’s decision and not release the memo.
This is deeply disappointing—the DOJ had an opportunity to turn the page on the politicization and dishonesty of the last four years, but chose not to do so. We’ll be fighting this in court. It is time to end the deception and move past the abuses of the past administration. For more, read CREW’s statement.
Thank you for being a part of the fight for transparency and accountability,
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
