Dear Friend of the Institute,
On May 5–6 we held the 29th Annual Hyman P. Minsky Conference. The event saw central bankers, financial market regulators, former government ministers, advisers to multiple administrations, journalists, legal scholars, Wall Street practitioners, and academic economists take part in wide-ranging discussions of vital economic and public policy issues that have emerged from this pandemic crisis.

Bringing people together from a variety of professional and pedagogical backgrounds was central to Minsky’s vision when he originated this conference three decades ago. With economies and financial markets around the world in flux and amid signs of a reevaluation of orthodox approaches to public policy and economic thought, this is a particularly fertile moment for Minsky’s project. By creating a space where heterodox and mainstream economic thinking meet, this gathering creates opportunities to foster dialogue, educate, and lay the groundwork for change.
But the continuation of events like this, along with the Levy Institute’s innovative research, development of policy alternatives, and educational programs, depends on our supporters. Help us keep Minsky’s work a vibrant part of the discussion to come.
